The Environment
A primary concern for Applegate has always been the environment. Applegate since its beginnings has always used cellulose insulation which is made up of 80-85% recycled newsprint. Applegate’s cellulose insulation uses one-fifth the energy in manufacturing cellulose in comparison with fiberglass insulation and has virtually zero emissions. Insulating a 1,500 square foot home with Applegate insulation cellulose will recycled as much newspaper as an individual will consume in 40 years. In addition all heating and cooling products are of the industry’s highest standards in efficiency in order to conserve our valuable energy while also saving you money. Along with using green products we also train our employees to safely and responsibly recycle, reuse, and dispose of all hazardous and recyclable materials.
Green Built of Michigan is an organization that puts the environment first by educating members of the building community and homeowners about building and remodeling “green”. Being energy efficient is one of Green Built’s top priorities and Applegate products are all at the highest efficiency levels the industry offers. Tim Miller Vice President of Applegate is also on the board of directors at Green Built and continues to keep all Applegate employees green conscious while working in the field.
